Monday November 19 Housing and Economic stories

I noticed another suspicious death/home story. Looks like a fire on a house with an owner $100K in debt, but a body found in the rubble. Odd, I am sure more to come.

Also, here are some notes from my trip to Vegas over the weeken. Surprising, but did no gambling during the entire weekend. Went to the old downtown district on Friday night and then the Billy Joel concert on Saturday night. For a good summary of the housing situation in Vegas, see the blog/site below. Very interesting. I will just say this.... I stayed with a friend who lived West of the strip near Rainbow and Russell and it seemed about every corner on Rainbow had retail space built upon it. About 1/5 to 1/6 of all the retail space seemed to be empty (but just a subjective statement).
